Boeing, FlyDubai sign agreement for mobile maintenance solutions

Boeing recently announced at the MRO Middle East conference that flydubai has signed an agreement to implement Boeing's suite of mobile maintenance applications. The airline will deploy Maintenance Turn Time, Toolbox Mobile Library and Toolbox Mobile Parts — solutions that provide real-time access to the information technicians need to quickly resolve maintenance issues.

Bombardier Aircraft Service Centers receive new certifications

The Malaysia Department of Civil Aviation has given repair station approval to the Bombardier Aircraft Service Center in Singapore. The facility is Bombardier's 10th factory-owned service center and, with the Amsterdam facility, the second outside North America.

Aspen Avionics to aid with NextGen requirements

Aircraft owners who are worrying about whether or not they will be able to comply with the NextGen regulations set to be put in place on Jan. 1, 2020, may be able to rest a little bit easier. The NextGen GA Fund and Aspen Avionics have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide pilots access to quick and affordable ways to upgrade their avionics.
Aircraft maintenance firm plans Missouri facility

An aircraft maintenance company plans to open a facility in Kansas City, Mo., that could eventually employ 500 people. Aviation Technical Services plans to begin renovations in February on a building at Kansas City International Airport. It's expected to be ready to open in April.

The low cost carrier's revenues rose by 14 percent annually to $1.4 billion and its profits rose to $47 million in the fourth quarter, from $1 million in the year ago period. The carrier's profits in the fourth quarter of 2012 were impacted by Superstorm Sandy.
