Lufthansa Technik
Lufthansa Technik AG is to provide comprehensive technical support for the new Eurowings long-haul fleet. The agreement was reached with SunExpress Germany, which operates intercontinental flights from Germany for the Lufthansa Group under the Eurowings brand.
In the framework of a Total Technical Support TTS, Lufthansa Technik will among other aspects handle component supply, aircraft maintenance, engineering services and the supply of consumables for up to seven Airbus A330-200 widebody aircraft of the airline.

NAS-ExecuJet, a partnership between ExecuJet Middle East and National Air Services, is expanding its FBO services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the opening of an additional FBO facility in the Royal Terminal at King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh.
The FBO expansion at the Royal Terminal, utilized by royalty, government dignitaries and VVIPs, is in addition to the existing FBO services provided in the airport’s Private Aviation Terminal.

Sequoia Helicopters has selected SKYTRAC Helicopter Flight Data Monitoring for its fleet of Bell 212 helicopters. With a focus on Oil & Gas, firefighting and tourism sectors, Sequoia was looking for a solution that could assist them with both proactive safety programs and cost-saving maintenance management.
"We have an extremely experienced crew working in complex environments that involve remote territories and, frequently, heavy work load cycles," says Sequoia CEO Ralph Wagner.

Final assembly is well underway on the first full GE9X engine that will test in the first half of 2016, four years before the GE9X engine enters service on a Boeing 777X aircraft.

Better batteries for electric aircraft are in the works, but it may be five years before we see significant improvements in energy density, according to a leading battery researcher at the Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois. Jeff Chamberlain, who heads the lab's Collaborative Center for Energy Storage Research Science, told AVweb in an exclusive interview that overpromising on battery capacity is a result of snake-oil salesmanship and overenthusiastic entrepreneurs. But the fact is, lithium ion batteries remain a difficult and challenging chemistry to improve.

Greenville Tech
Captain William Wilkerson and his wife, Tisa, have donated a 1952 Cessna 195 aircraft to the Aircraft Maintenance Technology program at Greenville Technical College. The plane will be used to enhance the hands-on training offered through the Federal Aviation Administration-approved program, which prepares students to become maintenance technicians.
The donated aircraft, valued at $78,900, was purchased by the Wilkersons in 1980.

A proposal to strip the Federal Aviation Administration of its power over the country's air-traffic control system and transfer those duties to a private entity has members of some aviation organizations concerned about the economic effect such a measure would have on businesses, noncommercial airports and rural communities.
Advocates of the proposal claim a private nonprofit or for-profit group controlling air traffic would generate a revenue stream to use for much-needed equipment upgrades.
