StandardAero continues to break new ground, achieving another Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the first Honeywell JetWave™ Ka band global high-speed broadband connectivity solution available today for Gulfstream G-IV business aviation aircraft operators. In November of last year, StandardAero received a similar STC for a JetWave system for Falcon 900/B/C/EX series aircraft.
After more than five years of development, the FAA and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certified the Cessna Turbo Skyhawk JT-A with next-generation Garmin G1000 NXi avionics, clearing the way for deliveries to customers in the United States and Europe.
Manufacturer Textron Aviation in Wichita, Kansas said the new model, equipped with the Continental CD-155 turbodiesel engine, has exceeded initial performance targets including improved maximum range.

The Trump Administration has announced the appointment of Daniel Elwell as Deputy Administrator of the FAA.
Elwell is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and served in Operation Desert Storm. He was a commercial pilot for 16 years before becoming Assistant FAA Administrator for Policy under President George W. Bush.
Gov. Matt Bevin announced that Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance Inc., which provides aircraft maintenance, avionics, painting and structural repair, along with overhauling and refurbishment, will open a 15-employee operation at Big Sandy Regional Airport in Martin County.
"We are excited to see this continued growth of Kentucky-based Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance," Bevin said.

A corporate flight crew reportedly deadsticked a Hawker Beechcraft 400XP to a safe landing at Buffalo International Airport on Saturday in an incident that would have made international headlines if it had gone any other way. The aircraft was carrying movie star Jennifer Lawrence from her hometown of Louisville to Teterboro. The aircraft took off at 11:46 and headed with a flight-planned destination of TEB but FlightAware shows a track well to the north of a direct route to New Jersey.
In the months of April and May, and with the support of GE Aviation, AFI KLM E&M mobilized staff in its global network around a unifying humanitarian project in the shape of the connected "Run Up" campaign. Honda Aircraft secured the type certificate for the HondaJet from Transport Canada on June 1, allowing deliveries to Canadian registration customers to begin.
"We are proud to achieve Canadian certification for the HondaJet, which signifies it meets the high safety standards governed by Transport Canada," Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino said in a statement. "With multiple orders in the pipeline, achieving this important milestone will now allow us to begin HondaJet deliveries to our Canadian registration customers."
A $500,000 federal grant will be used to renovate two buildings leased to Southern University Shreveport for its airframe and powerplant school to recruit and train more aircraft technicians.
