Dassault Falcon Jet has assigned Skyservice Toronto as its newest authorized service center (ASC), making it the 52nd service center in the OEM's support network. The agreement, which will take effect by year-end, will allow Skyservice Toronto to perform line maintenance, AOG support and other services on the Falcon 900EX EASy and 2000EX EASy series.
The ASC hub will be at Skyservice's 160,000-sq-ft maintenance facility at Toronto Pearson Airport, though AOGs will also be supported through its Montreal and Calgary facilities.

During the last week of June, committees in both the House and Senate marked up and passed their versions of FAA reauthorization legislation.
For the MRO industry, the news from the Hill is generally positive: nothing hostile in the original bills and no damaging amendments. With those messages taking hold, we could focus on positive policy initiatives to address the technician shortage and improve the regulatory environment for repair stations.

The FAA proposed an emergency airworthiness directive requiring owners of Lycoming engines to inspect and potentially replace off-spec connecting rod small-end bushings in Lycoming engines overhauled during the 2015 to 2016 time period. The AD codifies the procedures found in Lycoming's Mandatory Service Bulletin SB 632 released last month.

Business and general aviation manufacturers reported another quarter of mixed results with the total number of piston, turboprop and business jet deliveries in the second quarter of 2017 edging up 2.6 percent, while billings suffered a 1.2. percent decline, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.
GAMA released the second quarter shipment results, reporting 561 total fixed-wing shipments in the three months ended June 30, compared with 547 shipments in the same period of 2016.
