Bombardier opens green facility to produce innovative wings for CSeries

U.K. Prime Minister, David Cameron officially opened Bombardier's new wing manufacturing and assembly facility in Belfast. Bombardier's new 600,000-square-foot facility is producing the wings for the CSeries aircraft, which had its maiden flight last month. The wings are made using carbon fiber composite technology developed by Bombardier engineers in Northern Ireland. This technology enables both material and aircraft weight savings, which contribute to reduced manufacturing cycle times and reduced fuel burn.

Boeing gives $750,000 to Saskatoon school for aircraft maintenance

Boeing, the international aviation and aerospace company, has provided another $750,000 in funding for the Saskatchewan Aviation Learning Centre in Canada. Reil Bellegarde, president of the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, says the company's contributions began about five years ago with a $1 million donation.
