Bombardier to increase maintenance operations in China
Canadian Manufacturing
Bombardier Aerospace and the Tianjin Airport Economic Area have signed a letter of agreement to increase aircraft maintenance services in Mainland China. The agreement is a first step toward the creation of a joint venture and eventually the construction of a maintenance facility in 2016.

Repairing an airplane engine on a tight budget might become a lot easier

You've heard of 3-D printing. Now meet 3-D painting, which is also called cold spray. The process can repair machine parts in a matter of minutes. Small bits of metal are shot through a gun-like device at speeds approaching 2,237 mph. The metal (nickel alloys) travels in a blend of nitrogen and helium gas, and gradually stack up on the damaged part to recreate the desired surface. A robot controls the movement of the gun to ensure that the repair is done accurately.

Aircraft operated by the United Arab Emirates military will continue to receive maintenance, repair and overhaul services from AMMROC LLC. AMMROC — Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center — is an Abu Dhabi company owned by Mubadala Aerospace, Sikorsky Aerospace Services and Lockheed Martin.

Navy looks to Exelis for avionics test systems for MH-60R and S-70B maritime helicopters

Officials of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, N.J., announced a $7 million contract to Exelis recently for as many as 62 avionics radar signal simulators, which are for test and measurement of helicopter radar warning receivers, electronic surveillance measures and electronic countermeasures systems.

US aircraft moved from Dubai Airshow ahead of storm

The U.S. military recently began moving 12 U.S. aircraft on display at the Dubai Airshow to a nearby maintenance facility ahead of a major sandstorm and thunderstorm expected to hit the region, a spokesman for U.S. Air Force Central Command said.
