Air Service Basel, an aviation services provider at Switzerland's EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, has received maintenance approval certification from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, which authorizes the facility to support the Dassault Falcon 900 series in the Asian nation.
"We are very pleased to extend our services to aircraft operators and aircraft owners registered in the Philippines," stated CEO Claudio Lasagni. "We strive to offer no less than the best, and this certification adds further recognition to our high-quality maintenance and exceptional service standards here in Basel."
The French military is literally going where eagles dare in an effort to combat the increasing use of drones by criminals and terrorists.
Following incidents of drones flying over the presidential palace and restricted military sites — along with the deadly 2015 Paris terror attacks — the French air force has trained four golden eagles to intercept and destroy the rogue aircraft.
An FAA program to integrate drones into the National Airspace System has drawn lots of interest, the FAA said, with more than 4,300 people signing up for online webinars about how they can participate. Based on the demand, the FAA has added two more webinar sessions. Each session will provide participants with an overview of the program and the application process, and the specific criteria and deadlines they will be required to meet.
Chinese Communist party policymaking may, at first glance, appear to have little bearing on what happens in American, Canadian and French factories, where most of the world's large business jets are assembled. Yet some observers believe that a crackdown on corruption in China over recent years has helped to damp demand from the wealthiest Chinese for the biggest and most prestigious private aircraft.

According to author Joshua Stoff: Having worked at the Cradle of Aviation Museum for decades, I have learned that treasures sometimes turn up unexpectedly. One day in 2012, I got a phone call from a fisherman in Mattituck, on the eastern end of Long Island. It seems he was cleaning out his boat shed when he found part of an old airplane, and he wanted to know if we wanted it.
The big advantage of augmented reality tools, for either training or supporting aircraft maintenance, lies in the ability to bridge long distances. Long distances are a special challenge for an MRO that specializes in line maintenance and must do inspections and possibly repairs in many locations.

Jet Aviation is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. During five decades in business, it has evolved from a two-hangar maintenance facility in Basel, Switzerland, to an international enterprise offering FBO, MRO, completions, and management services throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North America, and the Caribbean.

CubCrafters has introduced two new variants of the Carbon Cub model: The Carbon Cub EX-3 and FX-3.
The Carbon Cub EX-3 is an experimental amateur built (E-AB) kit, and the Carbon Cub FX-3 is the company's FX (Factory eXperimental) builder assist version. Both feature a more powerful, fuel-injected engine, constant-speed propeller, and higher 2,000 pound gross weight limit.
With Rolls-Royce’s Trent 1000 entering service this week, following on from other newer engine types such as the LEAP and the PW1000G joining the global fleet in recent years, it’s sometimes easy to overlook the in-service stalwarts that will generate the lion’s share of engine maintenance work over the next decade.
