Unmanned aircraft maintenance partnership to increase production
U.S. Air Force
The Air Force Sustainment Center, or AFSC, and General Atomics reached a partnership agreement Nov. 9, for the maintenance of unmanned aircraft systems, or UAS, including the Predator/Reaper and the Army's version, the "Gray Eagle."

Northrop Demos avionics system for Defense Dept Aircraft

Northrop Grumman has demonstrated a new avionics technology intended to help the Defense Department to meet aircraft requirements set by the Federal Aviation Administration. United opens maintenance hangar at Washington Dulles Airport

United Airlines recently opened its new wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar at the Washington Dulles International Airport. The airline invested nearly $45 million to construct the facility, which will enable the airline to perform maintenance on two wide-body or several narrow-body aircraft simultaneously. United employs approximately 300 technical operations employees at Dulles and has nearly 6,000 employees throughout the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

Lufthansa Technik in talks to sell aircraft maintenance facility in Ireland

Lufthansa Technik is reportedly in preliminary discussions with Cloud Investment Partners about a possible sale of the Lufthansa Technik Airmotive plant in Dublin, Ireland. Cloud Investment is an American investment firm focusing on aviation assets. Irishman and former GPA executive Declan Treacy is among the founding partners of Cloud Investment, Irish Times said.

Aircraft maintenance company completes 1st heavy maintenance check on commercial aircraft

The aircraft maintenance company that took over a facility in Lake Charles says it has completed its first heavy maintenance check on a commercial aircraft there. That requires disassembling the aircraft, making structural checks, replacing any components that need it and putting the plane back together, Danny Martinez, vice president of technical services, told The American Press.
