Almost any other national champion disc golfer would be clear out of town, in Columbus, Ohio.  Knoxville, Tenn., native Will Schusterick agreed to forego his spot on the national tour and compete in Knoxville at the Knoxville Disc Golf League's Volunteer Classic. With just eight national tour dates per season and one in Columbus soon, his is a significant sacrifice, but one he's willing to make in order to give his hometown tournament more exposure. More

Every player participating in the annual Brent Hambrick Memorial Open teed off at some point on hole No.8, next to a small maple tree with a plaque underneath. The plaque is dedicated to Hambrick, who died of leukemia in 1997 at age 34. His ashes were sprinkled beneath the tree, which is planted next to his favorite hole on the Hoover Reservoir disc-golf course in Columbus, Ohio, that bears his name. More
