Disc golf continuing to expand its local popularity in St. Louis

It's now official, disc golf has come to St. James, Minn. City Manager, Joe McCabe, Pete Eggen, and Derek Tonn, Chief Executive Officer and Designer of mapformation were all working at St. James Memorial Park on Friday, June 10 to get the nine-hole course set up for a trial run on Saturday and Sunday. Dennis Wield met his wife at a disc golf tournament, and two years later married her standing on a disc golf course. Larry Jansen started playing disc golf as a kid, taught his son, and now plays with his grandson. The best-kept secret about the game of disc golfing is that it's not about how far you can toss your disc or how accurate you are. Austin and Skyler Krise are not your typical eighth and ninth graders. By all accounts, they certainly look like average teenagers. Skyler just graduated from West Branch Junior High in Clearfield, Pa., where he received several academic awards.
