In the 2011 Australian Disc Golf Championships, held near Hobart, Tasmania recently, the enduring sight for most locals will be of Reading walking down the steep hole 15 fairway, looking like a giant, surrounded by a small tribe of kids." Sweden is home to some of the world's best disc golf players, as well as the world famous Jarva Disc Golf Course in Stockholm, the home of the Stockholm Open for the last 16 years. A few of the top players who come from Sweden, include Jesper Lundmark from Skelleftea, the 2010 winner of the European Championships and the 2009 winner of the European Open. Markus Kallstrom is from Gavle, Sweden and this year he captured the British Open, and was also victorious in the Swiss Open and the Swedish Championships. More

Disc golf's Fly Ink Open took place in San Antonio on Dec. 3 and 4, 2011, at both the Live Oak City Park Disc Golf Course and McClain Park Disc Golf Course. This event marked the finale for The Alamo City Disc Series, and is sponsored by Fly Ink, with the series sponsored by Disc Golf Station. More
