Pampers celebrates 50th birthday with Little Miracle Missions program

Part of its 50th anniversary as a baby care brand, Pampers has launched its Little Miracle Missions program. The program's goal is to celebrate, support and protect babies and their families while encouraging parents to "pay it forward" and support others, Pampers said. The program launch is being supported through TV ad spots and through Pampers' Facebook platform, where consumers can participate in the first Little Miracle Mission — to congratulate and offer support to an expectant mother with a gift or surprise to underscore how special it is to become a parent. Carl's, Jr. Dr. Pepper, Sony, Vitaminwater, GNC, popchips and Sephora are among the advertisers on board as Kiip, a game-based advertising network that rewards players with real, advertiser-sponsored items, according to Wired. Kiip is not based on earning points to redeem merchandise, a la Microsoft's Club Bing. Instead, when a player clears a certain level, an alert for an advertiser-paid reward pops up. More

Film studios have been testing ways to best fit into the nexus between real-world marketing and promotion via social gaming. The key, of course, is for the film's storyline to mesh with the theme of the social game. Universal Pictures film, Fast Five, has found that perfect fit with the Facebook-based social game Car Town. What makes this promotion unique is that Universal has taken advantage of many of the features Cie Games, the social networking publisher and creator of Car Town, offers.
