An interview with the PMI OVOC Director of Technology

In the series "Know the members of the board" at the Ottawa Valley Outaouais Chapter (OVOC), I have been asked to interview each of the board members, and will be bringing you those interviews over the next few weeks. I'm Rahul Majumder, one of the many volunteers that make PMI OVOC so successful. I recently interviewed Larry Cooper, our Director Technology — at OVOC.

PMI OVOC PMP Exam Prep Study Group

PMI OVOC is pleased to announce the 5th edition PMP Prep study group beginning this winter. Abdallah Abi-Aad will once again be the facilitator of these informative session.

Dates: Jan. 29, Feb. 12, Feb. 26, March 12, March 26, April 9, April 23, May 7 & May 21
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Cost: Complimentary for anyone that has attended the PMI OVOC PMP PREP Course
Location: Will be communicated to the participants upon registering for the session
Register: Send an email to aabiaad@sympatico.ca stating the session date of your choice
Objectives of the Study Group: The participants to these sessions should already have followed a PMP bootcamp and they are preparing for taking the exam and they should have a copy of the PMBOK Guide, 5th edition. These sessions are free and their objectives are to:
1. Go through the PMBOK Guide, 5th Edition using the Process Groups
2. Respond to the participants questions
3. Discuss the areas of the PMBOK where the participants need some help or clarification
4. Do PMP practice questions

23rd International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE'15)

Ottawa, Aug. 24-28, 2015

RE'15 offers an extensive program of interest to academia, government and industry including three distinguished keynote speakers and three conference days full of papers, panels, posters and demos. A series of exciting tutorials to develop skills in and advance awareness of requirements engineering practices is of particular interest to industry. The main conference is preceded by two days of workshops and the doctoral symposium. RE'15 represents an excellent opportunity for PMI members to freshen their skills or acquire new ones in the areas of requirements engineering and business analysis.
