New Wal'Green' Drug Store Opens in Chicago

Illinois’ first LEED certified drugstore opened this week in Chicago. The eco-friendly Walgreens is the second Walgreens in the country to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards.During construction, 85 percent of waste was diverted from landfills. Gap Reports Encouraging Quarter as Profit Tops View

Gap posted a slightly stronger-than-expected quarterly profit on Thursday as more full-priced sales, inventory controls and cost cuts helped offset declining revenue at all its divisions. Dollar General Files for Initial Public Offering

Discount-store chain Dollar General plans to go public in an initial public offering, according to documents filed with federal regulators. The filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission specifies no time frame or expected offering price. The documents show a proposed total offering price of $750 million.
