From your own computer and as your schedule permits, you can support future scientists and engineers in their research pursuits as Sigma Xi hosts its annual, online science communication competition, the Student Research Showcase. Qualified, nonstudent members, career researchers with an advanced degree, and science communicators are invited to volunteer to judge up to 10 presentations from April 15–29. Presenters compete in the high school, undergraduate, and graduate school divisions by submitting websites that contain an abstract, slideshow, and video about their research. Judges evaluate presentations on their scientific thought and method as well as how well presenters communicate enthusiasm for their projects; clearly state the significance of their work; effectively use text, charts, and diagrams; and clearly answer questions.
