YouTube set to launch Canadian ad blitz

Google Inc. is launching an advertising campaign aimed at attracting more advertisers to its online video service, YouTube. The ads, which will appear online and on billboards and transit ads in Toronto, are part of a larger effort to increase YouTube's audience and the star power of its highest profile video creators. It also follows on changes the tech giant has made to how it sells ads on YouTube, which have been a success in the United States and are now rolling out in Canada.

Google: Android got a lot safer to use in 2014

Google has released its first Android Security report, claiming that malware on the platform declined by 50 per cent throughout 2014. The company outlined a number of improvements to the core security framework of Android in the year, with KitKat and Lollipop, with better enforcement of SELinux, disk encryption, as well as updated authentication methods like Trusted Devices.

Mozilla to also reject Chinese Internet body's certificates
Yahoo! News
Mozilla Corp, creator of the popular Firefox web browser, said on Thursday it would follow Google Inc and no longer recognise new certificates of trust issued by a Chinese Internet agency. Google's Chrome and Mozilla's Firefox are some of the world's most widely used browsers, and the moves could disrupt users accessing a broad range of Chinese web sites.
