TAB regional sales workshops set for San Antonio, DFW
Weyland to help sell more local direct

TAB
TAB is heading to San Antonio and Dallas in February for two regional sales workshops. Each seminar features sales guru Paul Weyland on "How to Sell Long-Term Local Direct Business in Today's Strange New World."

From prospecting to writing proposals, handling objections and closing long-term rate cards — each seminar features great ideas attendees can take back to their markets and use immediately.

TAB subsidizes a majority of the members-only seminars to keep the price low — only $40/person!

Law enforcement transparency emerges as a Texas Legislature theme
Michael Schneider, TAB Vice President, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs
The 84th Texas Legislature is trudging forward from its start a little over two weeks ago. The initial drama of a House speaker vote and adoption of the House rules was replaced last week by the inauguration of the first new Texas governor and lieutenant governor in over a decade. It was quickly followed by a spirited, but civil vote on the Senate's rules. Most of the attention focused on the Republican-led effort to do away with the so-called "two-thirds rule," a long-standing tradition, which required senate members to get the approval of two-thirds of the body in order to bring a measure to the floor for debate and potential passage. The Senate voted 20-10 with one present/not voting to lower the threshold to three-fifths.
