Constitutional amendments up for adoption on Nov. 5
Michael Schneider, TAB Vice President, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs
Texas voters will head to the polls on Nov. 5 to vote on at least 10 constitutional amendments with an 11th currently being considered in first-called special session of the 83rd Texas Legislature. It is unclear if SJR 2 by Sen. Robert Nichols, R-Jacksonville, will be given final approval by the Texas Senate before the special session ends Tuesday night. SJR 2 would dedicate half of all oil and gas severance taxes currently deposited in the Economic Stabilization Fund, the so-called state "Rainy Day Fund," to the state highway fund for improving the state's aging road system. Smart sellers always calculate ROI
-Originally published in www.radioink.com

Paul Weyland, Weyland Communication Strategies
Nobody in media sales likes this surprise, "Cancel my advertising. It's not working." Wouldn't it be a shame if the only reason the client called to cancel was based on false information? And more shameful because the seller, unaware that the false information was the only reason, timidly accepted the cancellation without any argument whatsoever. (TAB members only.)

FCC decisions lead to cancellation of two FM translator licenses, silencing of operating stations
Broadcast Law Blog
Sometimes, even though you have FCC authority for your operations, you can still run into issues that can cause you to have that authority pulled out from under your operations.
