PepsiCo has announced a change of distribution for its Gatorade products in the key trade channels of
Convenience, UDS (up and down the street) and Dollar from a warehouse-delivered go-to-market system to direct store delivery through both company-owned and independent bottlers in the United States and Canada. The company expects the change to become effective Jan. 1, 2011.

Russian petrochemicals group Sibur Holding has acquired the polymers business of the country's second ranked natural gas producer Novatek group. Moscow-based
Sibur sees Novatek-Polymer, a manufacturer of plastics pipe insulating tape and packaging films, as a ready downstream outlet for its increasing polyolefins production. For Novatek, which operates in the gas-rich autonomous northern Siberian territory of Yamalo-Nenets, the deal will allow it to focus on its gas extraction and processing, it said.

Nestlé is looking to make 95 percent of its packaging in the UK and Ireland recyclable in the next five years, up from 90 percent today. In its 2010 Creating Shared Value Report, Nestlé has
introduced a raft of new sustainability targets for 2015 including a 20 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and a 10 percent increase in renewable energy usage.

Survey will be published next month and is expected to show that 260,000 tons of plastic bottles were collected in 2009.

Food and beverage packaging company Reynolds Group Holdings Ltd., known as RGHL, said Wednesday that it has acquired a related company for $300 million. RGHL bought the Reynolds Food and Flexible
Packaging group from Reynolds Packaging Ltd., a New Zealand company. Reynolds Packaging Ltd. and RGHL are both owned by Graeme Hart, New Zealand's wealthiest man.
