Yoga wipes clean more than just mats, while centering the body and mind
Nonwovens Industry
A decade ago, Shannan Hansen, a certified yoga instructor, noticed yoga mats being borrowed by her students each week weren’t being washed or wiped down. Therefore, she sought a product that would clean yoga mats quickly and thoroughly that would be natural, eco-friendly, convenient and smell pleasant. When Hansen wasn't able to find what she was looking for, she focused on filling that void. "During this time she happened to see an episode of Oprah where Oprah Winfrey was having a contest for small businesses called 'O' Get the Money,'" says Bret Allen, director of operations, Jo-Sha Wipes. "She had already thought about doing something herself, but after seeing this [episode] she decided to go for it."

The future of footwear: 3-D printed shoes that react to your movements
3D Printing Industry
It’s called the ADAPTIV and it's intense, both in terms of its design and the teamwork involved to bring it together. The proposed device will be comprised of a nylon-esque (Elasto Plastic) shell 3-D printed by Shapeways, nylon 3-D printed insoles with air pockets and air bags, and a series of gyroscopes and pressure sensors. Though the technology hasn't quite been nailed down, the plan is for ADAPTIV to invoke the gyroscopes and sensors to redirect air throughout the boot in response to a wearer’s motions and body weight.
