While mature markets have seen expansion in spunmelt capacity it's really the emerging economies that are fueling the impressive level of investment in this nonwovens technology. China is leading the way of course, along with other Asian markets, the Middle East, India and parts of South America. If these high growth markets are able to sustain their economic development, overseas demand for hygiene materials, particularly for disposable diapers, is forecasted to continue to increase significantly.

Swift India launches Polyvalent mini-offset press

Nashik-based Swift India, the manufacturer of mini-offset presses has launched Polyvalent sheetfed mini-offset press with inline drying system. Vasant Marathe, director, Swift India, said, "The machine is capable of printing on multiple substrates such as paper, paperboard, nonwoven fabric and metal sheets ranging from 30gsm to 400gsm. This machine is equipped with inline drying system. It is ideal for the small scale printers who wish to cater the packaging segment."
