In April, INDA and EDANA decided to form a joint International Trade & Trends Advisory Board with the objective of promoting the free and fair trade of nonwovens globally.

Fiberweb acquires control of Terram India
Nonwovens Industry
Fiberweb has acquired control of its existing geosynthetics joint venture in Gujarat, India. Fiberweb now owns 65 percent of shares in the Terram India plant, up from 26 percent. Terram India is based in a coastal industrial park near Mundra and has been fully operational since 2012.

Oerlikon completes sale of its natural fibers business
Nonwovens Industry
Oerlikon finalized the sale of its natural fibers businesses to the Jinsheng Group of China. The agreement to divest the Natural Fibers and Textile Components Business Units was signed on Dec. 3, 2012. Oerlikon expects from the transaction a net cash impact of around CHF $470 million after transaction and tax costs.

Sales of adult diapers to surpass baby diapers in aging Japan

Today, however, a solution was found in Brazil - or better, several solutions. Donaldson to build filter manufacturing plant in Poland

Bloomington, Minn., based Donaldson Co. Inc. is planning to build a new filter manufacturing plant in Skarbimierz, Poland to serve the European and Russian markets. The new 108,000 square foot plant, which is expected to open in 2015, will produce heavy duty air filters for both the on-road and off-road equipment markets.
