Sales up 13.6 percent at nonwovens producer Pegas in H1

In the first half of 2014, consolidated sales totaled 111.4 million euros, up 13.6 percent from the first half of 2013, at Czech Republic-based Pegas Nonwovens. However, net profit climbed faster to reach 10.5 million euros in the first six months of 2014, up a massive 56.5 percent year-on-year, which Pegas attributed to the reported unrealized foreign exchange changes in the compared periods.

Penray introduces synthetic media filters
NONWOVENS INDUSTRY
Penray Inc., has introduced a new line of heavy-duty coolant filters with synthetic media. The glass fiber-based filtering media is incorporated into a triple-layer design which is built on a structural steel screen with an epoxy coating and wrapped in a nonwoven sheet of polyester. The triple-layer construction allows these new filters to achieve high levels of filtering efficiency and capacity for up to 150,000 miles, far longer than other filters with conventional paper filtration media, according to Penray.

Cinte Techtextil China Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens will play host to nearly 500 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from 24-26 Sept. This three day event is Asia's leading biennial technical textiles trade fair, and has expanded this year to a total of three halls and 35,000 square meters of exhibition space, 45 percent larger than the previous show in 2012 and the largest event in its history.
