Researchers at the North Dakota State University are developing ways to integrate an RFID system into adult diapers to allow nurses and other caregivers to know exactly when their patients need to be changed. This system would reduce diaper costs and lessen the workload in nursing homes.

Trutzschler celebrates 125th anniversary

Though initially the emphasis was on repairs, it was only a matter of a few years before the first machines were manufactured in-house. In 1902, the company received its first patent.

Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company and manufacturer of premium-quality building, specialty and filtration products, has completed an expansion of its micro glass fiber nonwoven production for air filtration media in its plant in Wertheim, Germany. The company's micro glass fiber nonwovens are used as top-performance media in HVAC filtration applications and also as aircraft insulation.

Two more nonwovens companies have announced new investments in the state of North Carolina, where over $800 million has already been invested by the industry over the last decade and more than 1,600 well-paid jobs created as a consequence. Swiss-headquartered Jacob Holm Industries and Korea's Custom Nonwoven are the latest companies to announce projects there.
