US manufacturers notched October gains

U.S. manufacturers are slowly increasing production after a spring lull, a sign of modest but steady improvement in the economy. Manufacturing output increased 0.3 percent in October, the third straight monthly gain, the Federal Reserve said. The mild number was dragged down by lower auto output, a pullback that may only be temporary.

The company, which is based in Kendal, Cumbria, UK, and also has a U.S. plant in Schenectady, New York, specializes in manufacturing wet-laid veils and has been involved in a number of U.K. research projects examining the feasibility of recycling carbon composites, primarily working with specialists at the University of Nottingham.
