Why the rise in female firearms ownership is good for America
NSSF (blog)    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
It was big news recently when Augusta National Golf Club admitted the first female members in its history. While this may be a big step for the golf world, there has never been a lack of participation by women in the shooting community. The tapestry of the American West is woven with the stories of amazing women sharpshooters from Annie Oakley to Calamity Jane. Each cut a trail across the parched landscape with guns-a-blazin', adding to the richness of American history. More

FINALLY, a gun lubricant exists that can withstand the most extreme conditions.
After using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus, Floro Lavalle with Sierra Outfitters in Argentina reported cleanings were much easier, they were needed less frequently and field jamming went down to almost non-existent. While these statements may seem generic and boring, consider that they shoot on average 2000-5000 rounds per day per gun, OVER 1 MILLION ROUNDS PER YEAR, and pair that with Lavalle’s full season of using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus. His report was an 83% reduction in repair/replacement costs. MORE...

The Washington Times    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Gun grabbers aren't getting far in their attempt to ban handguns, so the next best step is to go after ammunition. They use scary terms to demonize ordinary self-defense equipment, hoping this will make Americans more comfortable with their incremental effort to diminish and ultimately eliminate the Second Amendment. Hunting and fishing increase in popularity — who gets the credit?
Outdoor Life    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
So how do you know when election season has arrived? You start hearing the words "hunting" and "fishing" coming out of the mouths of the politicians (and their staffs) hoping to get elected. Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior, has been a frequent source of sound bites concerning the recent release of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's 2011 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife-Associated Recreation. Better weather means improved dove forecast
Fort Worth Star-Telegram    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Although drought conditions have diminished planted seed crops across much of Texas, native seed-producing plants have provided ideal conditions in many areas for doves as the September hunting season opener nears. Despite many failed crops of wheat and maize, which normally help provide food for doves, natural foods such as sunflowers and croton have prospered, according to wildlife biologist Mike Krueger.
