KPCC-FM    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Dianne Feinstein announced that she's re-entering the battle over gun control during her keynote speech to the California delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Feinstein was president of the San Francisco's Board of Supervisors on what she calls that city's "day of infamy" in 1978, when a former colleague shot and killed Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone. Since then, Sen. Feinstein has been a vocal proponent of gun control. More

FINALLY, a gun lubricant exists that can withstand the most extreme conditions.
After using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus, Floro Lavalle with Sierra Outfitters in Argentina reported cleanings were much easier, they were needed less frequently and field jamming went down to almost non-existent. While these statements may seem generic and boring, consider that they shoot on average 2000-5000 rounds per day per gun, OVER 1 MILLION ROUNDS PER YEAR, and pair that with Lavalle’s full season of using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus. His report was an 83% reduction in repair/replacement costs. MORE...

6 creative ways Romney is courting shooters
Guns & Ammo    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Mitt Romney's relationship with gun owners over the years has been tenuous at best. While campaigning for the U.S. Senate in 1994, he expressed support for five-day waiting periods and other gun control measures. And in 2004, as governor of Massachusetts, he signed an "assault weapons" ban. However, Romney says his views on firearms have changed and, starting with his 2007 presidential campaign, he's sought rebirth as a pro-gun candidate. More

Shotgun sports can be a superior way to teach ethics
Shotgun Life    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Michael G. Sabbeth: A few years ago I experienced a moment that is now seared into my memory. The moment began inconspicuously. I and some of my Rocky Mountain Vintagers pals were ambling from station to station at Jerry William's superb Quail Run Sporting Clays Club in Kiowa, Colo. At a station with two lazy straight-away targets, a dad was teaching his daughter to handle a shotgun. More

From Dale Humburg, DU Chief Scientist: About the time the waterfowl season closes, I begin thinking about the next one. Beginning in February, I pay attention to snowfall on the prairies, followed over the next eight months by migration back north, reports of breeding populations, summer habitat conditions, regulations announcements, late summer and fall rains, weather fronts and timing of freeze-up.
