Commercial tenants often say they are not making any money because their rent is too high. Sometimes this is a true statement, but more often than not, the commercial tenant has simply leased too many square feet. When it comes to leasing commercial space, tenants often agree to take a smaller, larger or inappropriately sized or shaped unit. They then try to justify the choice by saying this was the best location. Tenants are compromising when doing this, and more site selection may be necessary before simply accepting "the best of the worst" available.
