Veterans, active-duty military tap social media network for support
FOX News
In April, LinkedIn co-founder Konstantin Guericke was approached by Yinon Weiss about supporting an interesting twist on the social media networking model that he helped introduce back in 2003. Weiss, who served for 10 years on active duty as a Marine Corps scout and sniper platoon commander as well as an Army Special Forces officer, met with Guericke to discuss RallyPoint, a professional network for active duty members of the military and veterans alike. Weiss founded the site back in 2012 alongside Aaron Kletzing, another veteran, when they were both students at Harvard Business School. In fact, the idea literally was formed on the back of a napkin in a Cambridge, Massachusetts, restaurant.

Separate health care for veterans does not best serve our vets
Forbes
Global and domestic health care and reform journalist Bill First writes: I had the privilege of speaking at the Concerned Veterans for America Summit recently in Washington, D.C. I've written about my concern for veterans' health care before (and I highlighted some of my thoughts immediately before the Summit). Our health care system needs a lot of work, and having served as a VA staff surgeon for nine years, the care we offer our veterans is an area of particular concern for me.

Regaining trust with veterans
The Herald Independent

He has visited dozens VA hospitals across the country and mandated all VA facilities conduct quarterly town halls to promote accountability and an open dialogue with veterans. When he gave out his personal cell phone number and e-mail address at a press conference, many dismissed it as a PR move. But, when he said he wanted to open up the VA culture, he meant it.
