Would Dump Endanger DIA Planes?
from Denver Daily News
A group of Adams County neighbors say a proposed landfill in Bennett near Denver International Airport would attract birds and result in strikes with airplanes. The group of about 80 has gained strength from concerns also raised by the Federal Aviation Administration, airport officials and the Colorado Department of Transportation. The FAA wrote in a letter to Adams County planners that it will conduct an "airspace analysis" at both DIA and nearby Front Range Airport before backing the proposed 165-acre landfill. "Municipal solid waste will attract birds, and most likely, result in birds flying over the two airports," wrote FAA officials. More

Biofuel Takes Flight
from Word of Mouth
