Fire at Tennessee nursing home stopped by sprinkler WVLT-TV Dec. 4, 2011 Share    
A fire at the Jefferson City health and rehabilitation center located in Tennessee was stopped thanks to a lone sprinkler activating in time and potentially saving lives. After investigating, it was found that the fire started in a patient's room in a wall mounted heater and a/c unit. One fire sprinkler activated, and that was enough to contain the fire. More

Area fire officials say quick thinking and a sprinkler system kept damage at a Jacksonville, Fla., apartment complex to a minimum during a fire. A fire at the Laurelton Village Care Center located in Brick Township, N.J., was contained to the room it started. Brick Fire Department Inspector Richard Orlando said, "The sprinkler system made short work of this fire.
