Fire at Tennessee nursing home stopped by sprinkler

A fire at the Jefferson City health and rehabilitation center located in Tennessee was stopped thanks to a lone sprinkler activating in time and potentially saving lives. After investigating, it was found that the fire started in a patient's room in a wall mounted heater and a/c unit. One fire sprinkler activated, and that was enough to contain the fire. More

Area fire officials say quick thinking and a sprinkler system kept damage at a Jacksonville, Fla., apartment complex to a minimum during a fire. Jacksonville Fire Chief Rick McIntyre said "by the time the fire department arrived, the fire had already been extinguished by the sprinkler system which had been installed when the apartment building was constructed."
