Recognizing that a number of older Morgans that were not registered were being rescued in recent months, the Registry Committee desired to provide the people rescuing these horses with an opportunity to register the horses at a reduced fee. Each year, Chapter 14 of The United Professional Horsemen's Association offers an annual educational scholarship. This year, $4,000 in scholarship money will be awarded. This scholarship money is available to applicants who are high school seniors or college freshmen, and applicants must be UPHA Chapter 14 Junior or Associate members or the child of an Active UPHA Chapter 14 member. Percy Fuller, a man whose talents training horses and young riders were legendary up and down the Pioneer Valley, died in Northampton, Mass, March 1. He was 88. On March 2, family and friends remembered Fuller as a "true-blue horseman," whose gift for training, breeding and showing horses was matched only by his passion for teaching generations of young riders and pairing them with prospective horses.
