Although Congress passed legislation late last year that will delay for a year a steep cut to Medicare reimbursement payments to doctors, some physicians and their patients remain wary. The House version of the medical malpractice reform bill that cleared the Senate this month would protect drug manufacturers from liability in lawsuits.
