Unemployment Rate Edges Down to 3.9% in April
SESCO Mangement Consultants
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate edged down to 3.9 percent in April, following 6 months at 4.1 percent. The number of unemployed persons, at 6.3 million, also edged down over the month. Job gains occurred in professional and business services, manufacturing, health care, and mining.

U.S. factories cranked out more appliances, computers and aircraft last month, lifting manufacturing production for only the second time in five months. The Federal Reserve said Wednesday that factory output rose 0.5 percent in April after a flat reading in March. In the past year, production has increased a modest 1.8 percent.  READ MORE
