Expect green home market to skyrocket

Experts at the 2012 International Builders' Show tell the industry to expect a fivefold increase in the green home market before the end of 2016, with green remodeling leading the way. The Green Home Builders and Remodelers Study predicts green construction will make up 29 percent to 38 percent of the market within four years, growing from $17 billion in 2011 to as much as $114 billion in 2016. But green remodeling will outpace even that staggering figure: The segment is expected to undergo a whopping 150 percent increase. More
