Architectural Billings Drop Slightly in March

Architectural billings for March slowed but design services are still in demand, according to a new report from the American Institute of Architects. The Architecture Billings Index shows a March score of 51.9 — down from 54.9 in February. The new projects inquiry index was 60.1, down from 64.8 the previous month.

According to a recent study, the use of antimicrobial copper surfaces in hospital rooms can reduce healthcare-acquired infections by 58 percent in intensive care units. The study aimed to find a solution to the increasing occurrence of HAIs worldwide. Further studies will be needed to determine the effect of copper alloy surfaces in other patient settings, but this shows great potential for the increased use of copper in healthcare facilities.
