A world class panel of speakers will convene at Impact Summit including keynote speaker Alexander Chan, associate director of national strategy at the Clinton Foundation. Chan oversees a portfolio of programs focused on chronic disease prevention and treatment and manages initiatives that address critical needs or gaps in services across a broad array of domestic health issues. Prior to joining the Foundation, Chan worked in both the public and private sectors on projects designed to improve public health outcomes through interventions and changes to the built environment.

Last Chance – Apply to Go to Milan with HOST by July 31!
ASID
HOST has partnered with ASID and Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) to bring twenty interior designers (ten from each organization), to their hospitality show in Milan, Italy, October 23-27, 2015. Participants will be chosen based on a required application, and if selected to attend, will have their airfare, accommodations, and registration fees covered by HOST. Learn more about the HOST 39th International Hospitality Exhibition.

HOST is an expo that showcases products suitable for hotels, restaurants, and related hospitality businesses. Those selected will be required to meet with exhibitors during the expo, and a sophisticated matching system will ensure that participants’ time at the Fair allows them to access the most relevant companies to their businesses in North America.

To apply to travel with the North American delegation to HOST Expo 2015, complete and return the application form to education@asid.org with HOST Fair in the subject line no later than TODAY - Friday, July 31. Those chosen to participate will be contacted during the first week of August and travel arrangements will be made by August 15.

Houzz Reports Confidence at a High Among Renovation, Design Pros

Houzz's latest quarterly Renovation Barometer survey reveals reasons for optimism. More than two-thirds of home renovation firms reported 2015 year-to-date revenues and profits to be at or above pre-recession levels, with one in five firms reporting revenues and profits to be significantly higher, says the latest survey.

Builder Confidence Hits Highest Level Since November 2005
NAHB
Builder confidence in the market for newly built, single-family homes in July hit a level of 60 on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI). The last time the HMI reached this level was in November 2005. “As we head into the second half of 2015, we should expect a continued recovery of the housing market,” said NAHB Chairman Tom Woods.

Big Office Buildings Tops In Adopting Green Practices

The 2015 Green Building Adoption Index, a joint project of CBRE and Maastricht University, found that 62.1 percent of office buildings in the U.S. greater than 500,000 square feet are considered “green” (holding either an EPA ENERGY STAR label, U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) full-building LEED certification, or both). In contrast, only 4.5 percent of all U.S. office buildings less than 100,000 square feet qualified as green.
