Interior set design has played a leading role in series TV since ... well, always. What upscale urbanites didn't lust after Lucy and Ricky Ricardo's swank Manhattan pad at 623 East 68th Street (which would actually place it in the East River) or shudder at the grim tenement one-bedroom of Ralph and Alice Kramden? And how many Americans were immune to the gaudy glamour of the Denver estate of the Carrington clan in "Dynasty" or the compound of the rascally Ewings in (of course) "Dallas"?

Interior design colleges do their very best to teach you how to design and how to perform the technical parts of the business. Please do not think I am knocking them at all. They have limited time in their curriculums, and it is impossible to teach you everything you need to know because they are focused on design vs. the business of design.

Ten billion: That's the number of videos people watch on Snapchat every day. The same potential consumption (maybe more) exists for Instagram Stories – quick videos and photos that disappear after 24 hours, just like Snapchat, but with an audience of 500 million users. The wide acceptance of Internet purchasing has opened up new markets for companies abroad looking to sell to designers in the United States. While many products are available from distributors and suppliers licensed in the U.S., purchasing directly from the manufacturer or factory eliminates the middleman, which may result in substantial savings. I stress “may” because the total cost to procure the product could be much higher, depending on what and how you purchase.
