ASID Scholarship Offers $12,000 to Interior Design Student
ASID Foundation
The ASID Foundation invites full-time students in their junior or senior year of undergraduate or graduate study to apply for its David Barrett Memorial Scholarship, a $12,000 biennial award recognizing outstanding work that demonstrates the successful execution of classical designs and a continued interest in using traditional materials, inclusive of furniture and fabrics. All applicants must submit a personal statement and letter of recommendation, along with a prepared design portfolio featuring eight to 12 design components with a written description detailing how classical designs and traditional materials are used in each component. All ASID members and nonmembers are encouraged to apply before the Dec. 16 deadline. For more information, email foundation@asid.org.

2013 ASID Student Design Competition: SHELTER

The SHELTER design competition challenges students to offer a solution for temporarily converting existing vacant buildings into shelters that support the health, safety and welfare of a community in crisis following a natural disaster. Have You Nominated for the Next ASID Board?

The Society is seeking to fill spots on its 2015 ASID Board of Directors, and nominations are being accepted now. Eligible individuals will have demonstrated global perspective and experience, with a track record of successful outcomes. Four positions will be filled: three directors-at-large whose two-year term begins Oct. 1, 2014, and the president-elect, whose three-year term commences at the same time. All nominations must be submitted by Oct. 31.
