Apple's Intelligent iHome: Patents Filed, Future in Sight?

Apple has filed a new patent in the U.S. patent office with an overly technical title that obscures one fabulously interesting fact: The patent is all about different ways that networked technology could automate systems in the home. Apple's idea is not just a super-smart remote control switch for your lighting, either — it would be able to track a user's location in and near the home and then intelligently react.

More than 1,000 ASID members nationwide participated in the sixth annual Real World Design Week (RWDW), Nov. 4 – 9. ASID Industry Partner Teknion signed on as this year's official sponsor and ASID Industry Partner Cosentino, a longtime RWDW supporter, worked with 77 account managers across the U.S. to host students through the brand-new registration portal, which facilitated quality matches based on demographics in line with employment practices. This member requirement is based on a belief that professional development strengthens the interior design profession and the Society by improving individual member attitudes, competencies, knowledge and skills in subject areas essential to the growth and success of the industry.
