ASID Leaders Participate in Well Symposium — Check out the Video

The Alameda County Law Library seeks pro bono interior design expertise to transform an underutilized area of the library into a multi-purpose space for free legal clinics and education programs for low-income individuals. The library wants to create a more suitable, dedicated space for hosting the Clean Slate Clinic and other law-related workshops for the public. Their accessible downtown Oakland location, on-site resources, and proximity to the courthouse make it an ideal venue for hosting legal clinics. Transform Grant Proposals Due Dec. 15
ASID Foundation
The ASID Foundation has set a Dec. 15 deadline for proposals for its fourth annual Transform Grant. Awarded annually, these grants focus on applied research in interior design and human behavior. This year, the Foundation will award $100,000 in grant money to one or multiple design‐related initiatives that address critical gaps in industry knowledge around the growing influence design has on public health and well-being. Interior Design Project Inquiries Reach Three-Year High
The ASID Third Quarter 2014 Interior Design Billings Index reports inquiries for interior design projects are at their highest in three years. As a leading economic indicator of residential and nonresidential improvement spending, the IDBI brings additional perspective to the already established construction indices. Three different variables had a strong effect on billings in Q3: firm size, region and market sector.

U.S. Median Home Price Increases to Highest Level Since 2008

RealtyTrac has released its October 2014 Residential & Foreclosure Sales Report, which shows the median sales price of U.S. single family homes and condos in October was $193,000, up 2 percent from the previous month and up 16 percent from a year ago to the highest level since September 2008 — a 73-month high.
