Steven Johnson, Bestselling Author, Named AUTM Annual Meeting Keynote Speaker

Steven Johnson, bestselling author of "Where Good Ideas Come From: The Natural History of Innovation," has just been announced as keynote speaker at the AUTM 2015 Annual Meeting, scheduled Feb. 22-25 in New Orleans.

Steven's work on the history of innovation has inspired a six-part television series airing this October on PBS. "How We Got To Now with Steven Johnson" will explore the power and legacy of great ideas, why and how ideas happen and their sometimes unintended results.

New Mexico Tech Students Prep Startups for Commercialization

Five potential startup companies are emerging at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, New Mexico, to take new technologies to market. More than a dozen students participated in a weeklong boot camp in early June to prepare business plans, marketing strategies and potential presentations to investors for funding to move forward.

Smart Pill Bottle Gets 2nd Patent
University of Alabama in Huntsville via Medical Xpress
AdhereTech and The University of Alabama in Huntsville have been awarded a second U.S. patent for the smart pill bottle that was invented at the university and is being commercialized by the company. Already in use by patients, AdhereTech's smart pill bottle automatically measures if patients have taken their medication.

Fireside Speaker at AUTM 2015 Annual Meeting: Steve Blank,
Bestselling Author

Steve Blank, serial entrepreneur and bestselling author, will be the fireside speaker for the AUTM 2015 Annual Meeting, scheduled Feb. 22-25 in New Orleans.

His bestselling "The Startup Owner's Manual" offers a step-by-step guide to building a successful company. Steve's earlier "The Four Steps to the Epiphany" is credited with helping launch the Lean Startup movement.
