Recent advances in herbal bioenhancers

Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of Hindu traditional medicine native to India. One of the concepts often being mentioned in Ayurveda is Yogvahi, or synergism, which is a technique to increase bioavailability, tissue distribution and efficiency of medications. A natural agent that is capable of enhancing drug bioavailabity upon its co-administration with the active pharmaceutical ingredient is called bioenhancer or biopotentiator. This concept is somewhat new to modern medicine, but it has led to some promising approaches.
