PROJECTS
Chanel Boutique Store
About:
Renovated into a boutique concept store in 2008, Chanel desired a lasting clean appearance for their brand. After eight years, the 7,200 sq ft facade retains it's clean, natural white appearance free of environmental staining from air pollutants and traffic.

Challenges:
Project required a maintenance-free, clean, appearance in a high traffic environment without disruption to the customer experience with repaints or stucco maintenance for the duration of the lease.

Solutions:
The exterior stucco was resurfaced with KEIM Universalputz Render reinforced with KEIM's woven Glass Fiber Mesh to ensure a crack-free surface for the life of the facade. The Render was treated with KEIM Lime Remover and two coats of KEIM Royalan extreme weather mineral silicate finish in titanium white.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace
About:
The house was built in 1818 - 1821 for James Moore Wayne, who eventually sold the house to his niece Sarah Stites Gordon, where the first of four generations of Gordons lived. The Girl Scouts of the USA purchased the house in 1953, restoring the house to reflect the 1880s Victorian period. Opened in 1956 as a historic museum, the home features many original Gordon family furnishings, including art by Juliette Gordon Low. The Birthplace was designated as Savannah's first National Landmark in 1965.

Challenges:
The most recent stucco was too hard and brittle, as a result of significant amounts of Portland cement in the mix, and was incompatible with the soft brick and mortar below causing major sections of the stucco to lose adhesion further adding to the degradation of the historic brick and mortar.

Solutions:
To further protect the western wall of the museum, KEIM PSS-20 Anti-graffiti Coating was applied to allow for easy removal of scuffs, heal marks and other blemishes where lines form to tour the museum. The Girl Scouts were seeking a 100 year solution and all restoration was undertaken to meet the the U.S. Department of Interior's Historic Preservation Guidelines.
