Maritime employers are the most "upbeat" about hiring intentions through the summer and early fall, a new survey suggests, notably in the fields of finance, insurance, real estate, public utilities and transportation.

Huntsville, AL is a haven for job-seekers in the STEM fields, especially for those interested in aeronautics. Known as Rocket City, it has a rich history as a center for space flight and the aerospace industry. (STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, mathematics.) NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center is located there. The locus for the U.S. government's research into civilian rocketry and spacecraft propulsion, Marshall employs 6,500 people.

Canada's fastest-growing jobs in the next 5 years

Canada's population is growing older, and that means big growth in jobs catering to seniors. Community care facilities for the elderly will see the largest increase in jobs of any industry in Canada over the next five years, according to an in-house economic analysis from job site CareerBuilder. Jobs in the industry will increase by 13 per cent between 2015 and 2020, far exceeding the 3 per cent increase in total jobs over that time.
