CIPS has provided me the opportunity to network with many highly accredited individuals nationally and to participate in influencing the direction of IT professionalism with Canada. It has offered me the challenges of working with organization made of good intention volunteers with a diverse view of where the IT profession needs to go. CIPS has offered me fellowship with some of the best people I have had the pleasure to share ideas with and has provide that comradery of acceptance wherever I go in Canada and sometimes beyond.

Beedie's Business Technology Management Certificate awarded first national accreditation

The Certificate in Business Technology Management at Simon Fraser University's Beedie School of Business is the first Business Technology Management program in Canada to be awarded national accreditation. The accreditation is the result of a rigorous process of program evaluation conducted by the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), and the Canadian Coalition for Tomorrow's ICT Skills (CCICT).

Despite uncertainties, 46 per cent of IT employees are looking

The percentage of IT employees interested in getting a new job is rising, even as they lose confidence in the economic outlook, new survey data shows. Randstad Technologies, a staffing and recruiting firm, found that 46 per cent of technology workers are likely to look for a new job this year, an independent survey taken in the first quarter found. In the quarter a year ago it was at 41 per cent.
