CIPS INTERVIEWS: Jean-Guy Carrier, Secretary General International Chamber of Commerce

Mr. Carrier has initiated and led research-based publishing and public information programmes for various international and national organizations, most recently for the World Trade Organization (WTO), from 1996 to 2008. As publisher and chief editor he developed the WTO's extensive publishing and Internet-based public information programmes, focused on research and information about the multilateral trading system. He initiated the WTO Reference Centre programme, a network of computerized WTO information and research centres established in the trade ministries of over 100 developing countries.

What the AT&T-Leap deal means for Canada

People who have more money than me like to throw it around. Take AT&T's offer to buy pre-paid carrier Leap Wireless for $1.19 billion. That's a lot of dough for an operator with $2.8 billion in debt. It makes one wonder what Verizon Communications is evaluating Wind Mobile at. On the other hand, Leap — better known for its Cricket brand — has five million subscribers, which is about 4.4 million more than Wind.

CIPS 2012-2013 Annual Report now available

In early 2012, CIPS members from across the country came together to create a plan for a renewed and enriched CIPS. Through February to June of 2012 the transformation plan was fleshed out with the help of the coalition, the Strategic Planning Committee and Michael Schiel of Western Management Consultants. The Strategic Planning Committee and Executive Council believed that the highest priority was the immediate need to raise funds.
