Call for CIPS Member Input — 2014 Immigration Levels
CIPS
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), is looking for feedback on immigration to Canada. Specifically, they want feedback on setting immigration levels. This means the number of new permanent residents that Canada should plan to admit for 2014. CIPS will be submitting a response to CIC on this request for feedback and would like your input specific to the ICT sector. A number of questions are provided below which the CIPS Advocacy Committee would like your input on.

BlackBerry's future: 2 views

That's what's happening with BlackBerry now that a special committee of its board of directors has been formed to look at "strategic alternatives" — which can mean anything from selling to a new owner, privatization or breaking up the business. China headed for 'Windows XP apocalypse?'

With just about eight months from the April 8, 2014 deadline for the retirement of Microsoft's Windows XP operating systems, a vast majority of computer users in China may be in for a massive migration migraine. Web analytics firm Net Applications estimates that 37.2 per cent of the world's personal PCs or about 570 million machines (based on Microsoft's reckoning that there are 1.4 billion Windows PCs worldwide) still run the 12-year-old OS.
