The Expansion Index from Reed Construction Data is a 12 to 18 month "look ahead" at the construction marketplace. It indicates whether a location's construction volume is expected to expand or shrink in the upcoming 12 months. The Expansion Index is updated monthly, with the chart below representing data from February 2013 by MSA. The next update is scheduled for March 2013.

Rockefeller, Lautenberg re-introduce infrastructure bank bill in Senate

Sens. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., and Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., - both titans of the Commerce Committee, both retiring in 2015 - recently re-introduced legislation to create such a bank. Their previous bill died at the end of the last Congressional session.

The Georgia Senate unanimously approved legislation aimed at speeding up transportation projects. The bill would expand the Georgia Department of Transportation's ability to use the "design-build" method of planning and constructing transportation projects.
