The Columbian    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
As engineers finalize the design of a new Interstate 5 bridge across the Columbia River, the next big step will be coming up with the money to build it. Planners have long anticipated a three-way split between the federal government, the two states and local revenue generated by bridge tolls to cover the $3.6 billion project, which also includes the extension of a light-rail line into Clark County as well as dozens of elevated ramps and overpasses on five miles of I-5 in Oregon and Washington. Dallas must do without Calatrava Bridge design
KXAS-TV    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Three "signature bridges" were planned to boost the Dallas skyline, but it looks as though the city will only have one. State transportation officials are moving ahead with an Interstate 30 bridge over the Trinity River without the design of noted architect Santiago Calatrava. "We don't have the money to build the bridge the way he designed it," Dallas City Manager Mary Suhm said. More

HVAC system design and corresponding building automation systems (BAS) are likewise becoming increasingly complicated. More
